We are currently recruiting for a survey leader on our freshwater invertebrate project in Dominica. The position would require the successful candidate to be in Dominica from 10th June until 29th July.
Survey leaders are responsible for conducting field research in Dominica, taking an active role in leading school groups in data collection. The survey leaders should ensure a high quality of data collection and entry across all surveys conducted. Applicants should have experience of conducting freshwater surveys, although specific experience in Dominica is not needed and applicants should have a undergraduate degree or higher in biology/conservation or a related field. Ideally the candidate would be over 25 and have a driving license so they are able to drive in Dominica. Experience in teaching or working with young people is highly desirable.
In return, successful applicants receive full accommodation and food onsite, current and future research opportunities, networking and skills development, flight bursaries for more experienced candidates, and of course the opportunity to contribute towards long-term conservation efforts.
