Operation Wallacea is a network of academics from European and North American universities who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research programmes across 13 countries worldwide.

We are currently recruiting for a Logistic Manager Assistant to work at our Mexico site in Calakmul. This position will run from 27th May until 31st July, and information on the site is available on our website.

The role of the Logistics Manager Assistant for Opwall involves daily operations in long-term scientific expedition camps and project management. You will be assisting the Head of Logistics to maintain close communication with the cooks and local guides, shopping and providing the supplies needed to run each camp, ensuring receipts and records are kept for all payments and the country manager is kept informed to maintain accurate budgets, arrange transport both between the forest camps and from the forest to the marine locations, ensure there are regular communications with all camp managers and to act as a point of contact in an emergency, etc.

Applicants will need to have a driving license, speak Spanish and English, and have essential soft skills including strong communication, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, time management, teamwork, adaptability, organizational skills, multitasking, negotiation prowess, problem-solving acumen, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

In return, successful applicants receive full accommodation and food on-site, internal travel from Cancun to Calakmul, the opportunity to develop project management skills and the potential to develop their roles within Opwall in future years. Successful applicants will also receive a contribution towards international flights.
