Herpetologist
Operation Wallacea is a network of academics from European and North American universities who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research programmes across 10 countries worldwide.
We are currently recruiting herpetologists to work at various locations across South & Central America, Africa, Europe & Asia. Positions will be from four to eight consecutive weeks between June and early August, and information on all our sites is available on the website.
The position will involve carrying out Herpetofaunal surveys as part of a large-scale monitoring programme. Applicants should have experience of working in the field, a biological undergraduate degree level or higher, and extensive snake and reptile survey experience.
In return, successful applicants receive full accommodation and food on-site, potential current and future research opportunities, networking and skills development, flight bursaries for more experienced scientists, and of course the opportunity to contribute towards long-term conservation efforts.
The positions will be filled as and when we find suitable candidates, so if you are interested, please apply as soon as you can to give yourself the best chance. The positions involve working with minors, so if successful, you will be asked to complete a background check.
